Manitoba, MB, Canada: Health and Safety Program Manual Template II
Regulation Requirements
Manitoba’s Workplace Safety and Health Act and associated regulations are in place to protect the safety and health of workers in Manitoba. According to the Workers Compensation Act and the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation in Manitoba (SafeWork Manitoba), it’s the employer’s responsibility to implement an occupational health and safety program to prevent employee workplace injury and disease. All businesses in Manitoba are required by law to have an occupational health and safety program manual developed and implemented for each work site. Employers in Manitoba must develop a safety and health program when there are 20 or more workers employed at a workplace. The safety and health program must meet the requirements outlined in section 7.4(5) of the act. If you have full time and part time workers, average the number of workers present each working day over the past 12 months and use this number as the total number of workers employed. Failure to do so could result in your company receiving fines, penalties, sanctions and/or stop worker orders by local government safety officers. This health and safety program manual template has been professionally developed to meet compliance with Section 4 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and Act of Manitoba.
