Most workplaces in Saskatchewan are provincially regulated. The legislation that deals with Saskatchewan occupational health and safety in these workplaces is as follows: the Saskatchewan Employment Act (the Act); and the Saskatchewan Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 1996; The Mines Regulations, 2003; and The Radiation Health and Safety Regulations, 2005. In Saskatchewan Canada, employers in moderate to high hazard workplaces with 5 to 9 workers are required by The Occupational Health and Safety Act, 1993 to establish and maintain an occupational health and safety program manual in accordance with The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 1996. Section 13 of the Act also requires employers at prescribed places of employment with ten or more workers to establish and maintain an occupational health and safety program that meets the requirement of regulation 22. Regulation 22 prescribes the required elements of an occupational health and safety program for employers in the prescribed industries with 10 or more workers.
This health and safety program manual template has been professionally developed to meet compliance with Part 2 Section 3 of the Occupational Health and Safety Regulations and Act of Saskatchewan.
