How do you become a security guard in Alberta?
ALBERTA SECURITY GUARD LICENSE
In Alberta, the Alberta Ministry of Justice and Solicitor General issues the Alberta security guard license. Prior to applying for your security license, you must pass a provincially approved course (ABST), just like the one we offer at OHS Safety Manuals Canada. Once our online security guard training course has been successfully completed, you will get a certificate of completion. You will then need to pass the final government exam required by the Security Services and Investigators Act with a score of 80% or higher. You will then be able to apply for a license.
ALBERTA SECURITY GUARD LICENSE
In Alberta, the Alberta Ministry of Justice and Solicitor General issues the Alberta security guard license. In Ontario, you will first need to successfully pass our online basic security guard training course. Once you have successfully completed our Ontario Online Security Guard Training course, you will get a certificate of completion. You will also receive a training confirmation number by email that will allow you to register for the final exam with the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services (MCSCS). Please note that you must have successfully completed a Level A First Aid class to receive your license.
